The funds raised through the RidgeWalk & Run and the GLOW 5K Run & Walk are used to support and provide initiatives that encourage community health and wellness in a variety of ways, including those listed below.

  • Free Health & Wellness Screening events throughout the community and at Jones Memorial Hosptial each May
  • Glucose screenings at the Andover Maple Festival and Angelica Heritage Days
  • Glucose & Cholesterol screenings at the Cuba Garlic Festival, Angelica Lawn Sale Days, and at Belfast Lions Club and Bolivar Lions Club events.
  • Blood Pressure Machines at JMH & YMCA provide the means to monitor blood pressure
  • Hydration Stations at the Wellsville YMCA and at the hospital encourage water consumption and are environmentally friendly water bottle refill stations
  • For the safety of walkers and runners who use the Riverwalk walking trail, a project was completed to extend the trail under the bridge on Route 417 and on the other side of the highway.
  • $100 Wellsville Chamber of Commerce Gift Card incentives at each Community Blood Bank Blood Drives held at JMH to encourage community donations
  • Provided gas card incentives to encourage county residents to complete the Community Health Assessment survey
  • Walking in Wellsville kiosks with maps and measured walking routes through the village and Island Park, where walkers can connect to the WAG trail and on into PA
  • $10,000 donated to Allegany County area food banks in 2023 in time for the holidays.
