Don’t let the specter of over 2,000’ of vertical climb be foreboding! You have trained and are ready to take on this gem of a trail!
Run competitively or take in the beauty by walking this event. Either way, you will encounter steep, rocky, and sometimes wet sections, as well as significant climbs and descents. Water packs or hydration belts are encouraged; however, 6 well-stocked aid stations will help you on your journey, which culminates in a spectacular 1-mile descent to the finish.
A cutoff time of 1:15 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at the South Branch Aid Station with approximately 4.5 mi. to go. Anyone coming through after 1:15PM will be asked to take the shuttle to the finish line for their safety and to ensure they make it to the finish in time to catch the buses. To make the cut-off participants must maintain a pace of at least 2.5 mph.
The awesome beauty of the 25K on a clear day is sure to inspire. And your well-earned finisher’s reward will be a memorable keepsake for having completed this wild, remote, and challenging trail.

Take the challenge of the 10K Trail Run. The timed run is on forest trails with some breath taking climbs, but the beauty of the trail makes the climb worth the effort. The course finishes with a fast 1/2 mile of downhill back to where it started.

Challenge yourself with the scenic 5K Trail Run. The timed run is on forest trails with some rolling climbs, but the beauty of the trail makes the climb worth the effort. The course finishes with a fast 3/4 mile of downhill.

From the start, the 9 Mile Walk approaches hemlock-lined forest trails and jeep roads, starting participants on a gradual 800’ ascent of Alma Hill. At a continuous, moderate trekking pace, this walk should allow participants around 3 memorable hours on the trail. The course can be occasionally rocky and somewhat challenging, but some of the prettiest and most remote areas in Alma Township are featured on the 9 Miler.
A cutoff time of 1:30 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at Reddy Road Aid Station with approximately 4 mi. to go. Anyone coming through after 1:30 PM will be asked to be shuttled to the finish line. The cutoff is in place to ensure participants’ safety, mitigate trail hours for our course sweepers, allow the participants to have plenty of time to enjoy the finish line food and festivities, and also still make the final finish line bus back to town. To make the cutoff participants must arrive at Reddy Rd. (5 mi. point) in around 3.5 hours, (2 mph).

Welcome to RidgeWalk & Run’s most popular event! The 15 minute bus ride takes you from town to the start at the very top of Alma Hill, At 2548’ this hill sports the highest elevation in NYS, west of the Catskills and Adirondacks. So, pay attention to the local forecast. With the higher elevation you may opt to carry along a lightweight extra layer. After traversing approximately 2.5 miles of mostly flat, sometimes rocky trail, participants access a second aid station at Reddy Rd. However, save some energy, the final 4 miles to the finish features some moderate hilly sections, but a gorgeous 1-mile descent to the finish.
A cutoff time of 1:30 PM WILL BE ENFORCED at Reddy Road Aid Station for the 6 Mile Walk. Anyone coming through after that time will be asked to be shuttled to the finish line. If continuing, the participant would miss the finish line food and festivities as well as the last shuttle bus back to town. The Reddy Rd. Aid Station is located only around 2 mi. from the start, so this mandatory cut-off time is rarely an issue for 6 Mile walkers.

The 2 Mile Trail Walk for those who are looking for a low to moderate “in the woods” experience. There is a guide available on the walk, but you have the option to “go it alone”. It is mainly off-road and on flat terrain. Training: If you can walk comfortably at a slow to moderate pace on a treadmill or track, for a half hour to forty minutes, you will be ready to enjoy this activity.

The 2 Mile Road Walk is geared for a casual, shorter walk. The walk takes place on a paved country road, with an optional 1/2 mile trail finish. This walk is also great for strollers!
